Take Two Prizes of "Excellent Work"

    Prof. Liu Da-jun with his Synthesized Textual Explanation on the Current version, Silk Manuscript and Bamboo Slips of the Zhouyi ( 《今、帛、竹书〈周易〉综考》 ) took the second prize of "Excellent Work" organized by Ministry of Education. The main content of the book is as following:

    Exegesis of the ancient characters in the current version; Silk manuscript and bamboo slips of the Zhouyi; Probing into the origin and development of the silk manuscript of the Yi; The textual research on the ancient meaning of the Zhouyi; A probe into Da yi Sheng shui copied on the bamboo slips.

    Prof. Lin Zhong-jun with his A Detailed Explanation of Zheng Xuan's Study on the Zhouyi ( 《周易郑氏学阐微》) took the third prize of "Excellent Work" organized by Ministry of Education. The main idea of the book is as following:

    Zheng Xuan (127 - 200) was a Yi-ologist and Confucianist in the late Eastern Han dynasty when the Confucianism of old Text rose. His numberology mainly includes three aspects: Gua-qi theory, Yao-chen theory and Yi number theory, among which the Gua-qi theory is different from that of Jing Fang. Zheng Xuan's human Dao is deduced from heaven Dao. Prof. Lin elaborated Zheng's view on the history of Yi-ology by explaining the origin of the Yi, three kinds of Yi and the completion of the book of the Yi. In the end, Prof. Lin analyses the hermeneutic approach conceived in Zheng Xuan's Yi-ology, holding that his approach giveing consideration to both meaning pattern and numerology, and discusses Zheng Xuan's Yi-ology's value and significance on the Yi study nowadays.
